Celebrity Pics: Regine Velasquez is now officially a Kapamilya
A tearful Regine Velasquez was met with roaring applause, warm hugs, and an equally emotional Ogie Alcasid — her husband and now-fellow Kapamilya star — as she arrived at her new home, ABS-CBN, on Wednesday.
For a greater part of her three-decade career, the “Pangako” hitmaker was identified with ABS-CBN rival GMA-7, where she headlined for a time the now-defunct musical variety show “SOP.”
“You know, they’re happy for me, and they understand,” Velasquez said, referring to GMA-7 executives. “My sister (Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, also her manager) and I are actually still in touch with them. Kinukumusta nila ako. They’re happy, they’re genuinely happy for me.”
“Ako, I only have gratitude. I am so grateful to them. Twenty years ‘yun, na inalagan nila ako, so I am grateful. I have nothing bad to say, because I love everyone that I worked with there. They all took care of me. They love me there. Maganda naman ‘yung paghihiwalay namin. Maganda naman ‘yung pinagsamahan namin,” she said.
