Tom Taus said Andi Eigenmann is his childhood friend

Tom Taus has finally broken his silence on rumors romantically linking him to actress Andi Eigenmann.

The 23-year-old Kapamilya actress has been spotted a number of times at public events with Taus, a former ABS-CBN child star who is now a professional DJ in the United States, along with some friends.

Photos of the two together were posted on Instagram by Taus's sister Antoinette and Eigenmann, triggering speculation among fans of the "Dyesebel" actress.

In an interview with the entertainment site push.com.ph, Taus said he and Eigenmann are good friends since the actress’ mom, Jaclyn Jose, was his former co-star.

“Actually, childhood friends kami ni Andi kasi si Tita Jaclyn dinadala niya sa set si Andi nun nung ‘Cedie.’ Mommy ko si Tita Jaclyn doon so talagang childhood friends kami, masaya. Minsan naghahang-out kami,” he said.

When asked to describe the actress in the few times that he has been with her during his short stay in Manila, Taus said: “She is nice, she is a lot of fun and very nice girl.”

Eigenmann recently confirmed that she is not on good terms with her rumored boyfriend, Jake Ejercito, following weeks of speculation that the two are no longer together.

She also said she sees nothing wrong with her friendship with Taus as they are both single.

When asked if he personally knows Ejercito, Taus said: “I heard a little bit of news but I am not really… I haven’t met him here.”

Taus said he and Eigenmann do not talk about Ejercito or their relationship whenever they are out with friends.

Following Eignemann’s admission that she is single, does Taus plan to pursue the actress?

“Honestly right now I am on vacation, I meet up with a lot of friends and she is one of those friends so that’s pretty much it,” he said.
