Heart Shaped Islands

Tavarua, Fiji
Who wouldn't want to fall in love in this piece of paradise? The island is a resort offering activities, including diving, kayaking and surfing, where you can later retreat to your private beach cabin.
Crab Island, Australia
Despite its name, this uninhabited island just off the coast of Brisbane is an important breeding ground for turtles.
Blueberry Island, Canada
Located in the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal, we're thinking it probably gets a bit nippy here in winter.
But the island is up for sale, so if you have a spare £494,000 and fancy treating your loved one to something a little different this Valentine's Day, this could do just the trick.
Great Barrier Reef, Australia
This heart-shaped island is a formation of coral within the Whitsundays and has witnessed many a proposal over the years by lovestruck Casanovas.
But due to its protected status it's off-limits for snorkelling or diving, so if you want to follow suit and pop the question here, you'll have to hire a helicopter or seaplane.
Makepeace Island, Australia
Impress your Valentine and whisk them away to Richard Branson's Australian island (not to be confused with his OTHER island getaway in the British Virgin Islands).
Harbor Island, USA
This wonderful forest-covered island can be found at the entrance to Bucks Harbor in Maine.
Its recent sale at £1.4million to the Maine Conservation Trust was hailed as coup for local conservation, after a number of private donors stepped forward to help save the island from development.
Isla Corazon, Argentina
We're thinking this is pretty much the perfect backdrop for a romantic walk and picnic with your love. You'll just have to factor in the flight to South America and getting to Lago Gutierrez, no big deal.
Washington State, USA
Only around for a few heartbeats, this island was captured by Joy Russell from the mountains.
She said: "From high up on the Chukanut mountain we watched the tide coming over the sands and a little heart shaped island formed....it only lasted for a few minutes."
Marlborough, New Zealand
This love-ly sandbank island was captured by travel blogger Lucy Dodsworth at the top of New Zealand's South Island, towards Abel Tasman National Park.
