A report in tabloid Pilipino Star Ngayon claimed that the It's Showtime co-host was arrested in Hong Kong on last Oct 31. The report alleged that Billy punched a man who groped his girlfriend Coleen Garcia.
But a press conference on Tue, Nov 15, Billy explained that while someone did disrespect Coleen in Hong Kong, he was not arrested.
"Hindi po ako nakulong. Kasi kung nakulong ako, hindi ako makakabalik sa Pilipinas — I'd be deported to the United States (Billy is an American citizen). But may kaguluhan na nangyari dahil nabastos si Coleen and it was a verbal altercation between someone there and me," he said.
(I was not detained. If I was arrested, I wouldn't be able to go back to the Philippines — I'd be deported to the United States. But something did happen because Coleen was disrespected and it was a verbal altercation between someone there and me.)
Billy said he merely was trying to protect Coleen, adding he wouldn't get into a fight if his girlfriend not been disrespected.
"We were lucky the police were there, and they were the ones who handled the situation, which was the proper way of doing it. And if it's done in another country, you have to abide and respect the rules of that country so we were just complying," he explained.
Billy talked to members of the press to promote The Ultimate Brocation, a reality series that will air on cable channel Kix starting Wed, Dec 14.
