James Yap opens MotoTechnika an Italian scooter store

San Miguel Coffee Mixers star James Yap celebrated his recent Governor's Cup crown with the opening of his new scooter store, MotoTechnika, last Saturday.
Yap, along with partners Mikael Coyiuto and Jeff Yap, became an official distributor of the Italian scooter brands Vespa, Piaggio and Aprilla.
"Parang double-celebration kasi nag-champion ako sa PBA. Ngayon opening ng bagong business naman," said Yap in an interview with ABS-CBN.
Yap hopes that his first "major business" would be a success as he admitted that a career in basketball will not last forever.
"Sana mag-click," he said. "Alam naman natin, basketball hindi pang-habang buhay kaya ko pinasok 'to."
Yap's Italian girlfriend, Michela Cazzola, also attended the grand opening.
In addition to his love for bikes, the star athlete credited Cazzola for playing a huge part in his decision to partner up with Italian companies.
In a separate interview with the entertainment website Philippine Entertainment Portal, Yap said Cazzola was the reason he developed a liking for Italian scooters.
"Hindi naman natin maitatago. 'Yung girlfriend ko is from Italy. Itong Vespa, Italian brand. So kaya nagustuhan ko," admitted Yap.
MotoTechnika is located at 96 Granada St., Brgy. Valencia, Quezon City.
