Out of My Head / Unknown
Out of My Head by Didier van Cauwelaert was the inspiration for the movie Unknown, who also premiered this February. Both the book and the movie tell the story of an American professor who travels to Berlin for work, but, after a violent car crash, he realizes that his wife and the life he thought he had is not actually real. Or is it? Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger and January Jones play the main characters. The movie respects most of the book’s plot and it actually has a surprise ending.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
This movie is pure perfection once you get past the cutie Logan Lerman playing a misfit, and Emma Watson as an American. Despite its very minimal flaws, there is beauty to be found in this film.

Water for Elephants
The book made Sara Gruen a household name after her novel was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 12 weeks in 2006. The book and the movie show the world of the circus travelers during the Depression, in US. Jacob Jankowski is the new vet at the Benzini Brothers circus and, of course, he falls for the star of the show, Marlena, who happens to be married to the head animal trainer. The details of that area are wonderfully described in the book and the movie does its best to envision that era. However, Rosie, the elephant, manages to steal most of the spotlight in both the movie and the book. Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattison and Christoph Waltz play the main characters.

The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is almost everyone's favorite book from high school. Hollywood teased us with that epic trailer and the promise of a December release date but alas, the movie has been pushed back to a summer 2013 release date.

One Day
One Day is the touching story of two freshly graduate British students, who after spending one night together on their graduation night, they’re meeting each year on the same day. After years of heartbreak, a failed marriage and failed careers, they finally get together. The author, David Nicholls, also wrote the screenplay for the movie, and the main characters are played by Anne Hathaway (who dons an interesting British accent) and Jim Sturgess, with a special appearance by Patricia Clarkson.

The book, written by famous Swedish author Steig Larsson, took the world by storm and now, David Fincher, the genius behind The Social Network and Fight Club, turned the book into a movie. Daniel Craig plays journalist Mikael Blomkvist who’s hired to search for a woman missing for the past 40 years. He’s also helped by a strange computer hacker played by Rooney Mara.
