You Cannot Hide From God

Do we believe we can hide our sins from God? Do we think that if we can't see Him, then He can't see us?
We live as if invisibility works both ways because He is unseen, we assume we are unseen too. We pull the curtains, we lower our voices, we delete the history, we smile in public and confess nothing in private, as if darkness could be a hiding place from the One who made light itself.
But Scripture says the opposite. Psalm 139 reminds us: "Where can I go from your Spirit? If I make my bed in the depths, you are there." There is no shadow deep enough to cover us from His sight. Hebrews 4:13 says nothing in all creation is hidden from God; everything is uncovered and laid bare before Him.
The problem is not that God's eyes are too weak to see us, but that our hearts have grown too proud to remember we are seen. We mistake His patience for absence. We mistake His silence for ignorance.
Yet His seeing is not the gaze of a policeman waiting to trap us it is the gaze of a Father who refuses to lose sight of His children. He sees not to shame us, but to call us out of hiding, just as He called to Adam in the garden, "Where are you?"
Adam hid among the trees, as if leaves could cover guilt. We still do the same, only our trees look different now excuses, distractions, good works, comparisons with others.
But no sin hidden is ever truly hidden; it only festers in the dark. What we bury without repentance begins to bury us. What we bring into His light, He forgives, cleanses, and heals.
God cannot be deceived, but He can be grieved, and He can be trusted. He already sees it all, and He still invites us to come near.
