Angel Locsin Happy to Be Considered as Wave by Filipino Marvel Artist Leinil Yu
Leinil Francis Yu is a Filipino comic book artist, who began working for the American market through Wildstorm Productions. He was first recognized after winning the Wizard's Drawing Board Contest, his first published work.
Marvel Comics, hired him to work on Wolverine.
After working on Wolverine in the '90s, Leinil has since worked on other Marvel titles like Secret Invasion, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk, among others.

Wave's civilian name is Pearl Pangan, and she's a Filipina from Cebu. She has water-based powers and a special costume designed by Leinil with retractable fins and other features to be revealed. Leinil also had the inspiration to give her those awesome swords reminiscent of Filipino kampilan.
