Rihanna called for an end to gun violence after her 21-year-old cousin was shot dead in Barbados, a mere hours after she celebrated Christmas Day with him.

Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, was killed at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Independent, citing a report in the Nation News. Allen had been walking in the St. Michael area of the British commonwealth island, where Rihanna was born.

Alleyne was shot several times by an unidentified man while walking near his home.
The young man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by car but later died of his injuries.
