Beauty Doctor Joel Mendes Faces Fine and Jailtime Over SSS Charges

Beauty Doctor Joel Mendes is facing charges for failing to remit his employees' Social Security Services contributions from October 2011 to January 2013.
Authorities and officers from the SSS' legal department went to Mendez's house in Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City to serve an arrest warrant for Joel Mendes but failed to do so.
Joel Mendes allegedly failed to remit SSS Contributions amounting to P1.8 million for his 40 employees and had a standing warrant issued by the Quezon Regional Trial Court Branch 88, according to the NCRPO director, Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde.
A staff of Joel Mendes said to the authorities that the doctor is in Cagayan de Oro City.
Dr. Joel Mendes is well known beauty consultant of celebrities. He also owns spas and beauty clinic nationwide. I myself am a customer in one of his clinics. In 2008 Joel Mendes was charged with estafa but is later acquitted.
