Cedric Lee and Denise Cornejo booked a flight to Singapore

The National Bureau of Investigation is checking reports Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo, two of the people implicated in the mauling of actor-host Vhong Navarro, had booked a flight to Singapore.

NBI Director Virgilio Mendez said he will take up the matter with Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on what actions to take.

He said he has spoken to Atty. Howard Calleja, lawyer of both Lee and Cornejo, who assured him that his clients will go to the NBI.

Sources said the names of Lee and Cornejo appeared in the integrated information and booking system of Philippine Airlines (PAL).

Records showed that the two had booked a trip to Singapore via PAL flight PR 503 which is scheduled to leave on February 6 at 7:55 a.m.

It was learned that the flight reservation was done through Internet two days ago, amid the controversy involving the mauling of the actor-host at a condominium in The Fort, Taguig City.

However, as of posting, the booking was not yet confirmed because the two have yet to pay for the plane tickets.

It is airline policy that a flight reservation can only be confirmed after payment is made, after which the corresponding electronic ticket would be issued.

Airline sources, however, could not confirm if the people who made the reservations are the same people implicated in the mauling controversy of the "It's Showtime" host.

Bureau of Immigration sources, meanwhile, said the names of the two were not yet included in any immigration watch list or hold departure order (HDO).

Immigration rules state that only people included in a watch list order issued by de Lima or an HDO issued by a court are barred from leaving the country.

Nonetheless, immigration intelligence personnel admitted that they are aware of the controversy and are constantly monitoring any departure of the people implicated in the incident.
