Chito Miranda clarifies Instagram post

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda denied on Thursday that he and his girlfriend, actress Neri Naig, are now married after a post on his Instagram page triggered speculation about their status.

The 37-year-old singer gave the statement through Universal Records, the music label managing his band.

Miranda, who is currently in Dubai with Naig for a concert, posted a photo of him with the actress on Instagram last Wednesday, captioned: "Merry Christmas from Mr. & Mrs. Miranda"

The post, seen by some 230,000 followers on Instagram and over 617,000 followers on Twitter, drew surprised reactions from his fans, with some congratulating him on supposedly getting married.

Miranda, who was embroiled in a controversy early this year after sex videos of him and Naig surfaced online, has been vocal of his plans to marry the former "Star Circle Quest" finalist.

"Ako ever since planado ko na 'yon talaga," Miranda said during his band's album launch in early December. "Siyempre when you are in a relationship, you always want to think na this would be it. So yeah, there's a plan."
