Aubade
The Parisian couture lingerie brand, which got its start as a a corset-making company in 1875, meticulously crafts bras, knickers, bodies and more with a sexy twist, including the sneaky "Culotte Tricheuse" push-up panty, the moulded plunge bra, and the waist-slimming "Guepiere." Playful femmes will adore their Seven Temptations Lingerie Game Box, complete with lace handcuffs, waist cincher and fetish ring.

Agent Provvocateur
Despite its French moniker, this famous lingerie brand was actually born in England. Joseph Corré, the son of punk fashion queen Vivienne Westwood and the Sex Pistols' impresario Malcolm McLaren, opened a lingerie store in Soho in 1994. When he and his partner (now ex-wife) Serena Rees couldn’t find the kinds of underthings they wanted to stock, they launched Agent Provocateur. The line quickly became a worldwide phenom, and today femme fatales from Soho to Silver Lake save their pretty pennies for sexy knickers, waspies, bras and corsets. Today, Agent Provocateur also peddles bedding, accessories, beauty products and swimwear.

Claire Pettibone Butterflies Collection
Everything the L.A.-based designer dreams up makes you feel like a princess or a goddess. And that is her goal, to take women to "an enchanted place," whether it's via her coveted couture bridal creations or her delicate thongs, camis and chemises. Celebs took note, from Camilla Belle to Demi Moore, buying up the ethereal styles (with evocative titles such as Feline, Love Song and Dharma) from her Butterflies Collection.

Cosabella
Founded in 1983 by an Italian husband-and-wife team, Cosabella ("beautiful thing" in Italian) is headquartered in sizzling Miami. The brand turns up the heat via its decades-old mantra “Freedom of Color,” offering a staggering number of different color variants, with new hues and prints introduced every season. Cosabella also deserves kudos for making sexy undies available to plus-sized vixens. Their "Cheekie" hotpant is available in size 22 (!) and the "Sweetie" bra goes up to G Cup. And, the pièce de résistance: they manage to make functional shapewear look hot.

Damaris
Shortly after completing her first sexy knicker designs from her kitchen in 2001, Central Saint Martins College graduate Damaris gained overnight celebrity by wowing stylists and the fickle members of the fashion press though private showings, garnering rave reviews in Vogue and Elle. The latter quickly crowned her "Lingerie Queen" and the real Queen took note: Damaris was summoned to Buckingham Palace to receive her "Celebration of British Design" award. Damaris has since gained a loyal following of celebs, royalty and mere mortals who are smitten with the avant-garde line's cheeky (pardon the pun) bottom cleavage panties, signature "bow knickers," sassy shoulder bras and infamous naked bra. Damaris' tad more "down-market" Mimi Holliday line is equally mouth-watering.

Elle Macpherson Intimates
Launched in the U.S. in 2005, Elle Macpherson Intimates is luxe yet affordable lingerie in a kaleidoscope of colors and a spectrum of sizes. Fit and comfort are absolutely vital to every new design. Macpherson creatively directs her eponymous brand with the conviction that "a woman alone in her private space is the definition of intimacy." More recently, Macpherson debuted the grittier, edgier and darker Obsidian, which she describes as “raw and sexy with a sophisticated edge.” These luxurious, perfect-for-outerwear pieces are done in monochromatic colors (black, charcoal, ivory) but each sport a small bit of Macpherson's fave color, Tibetan Blue.

La Perla
Their fit is marvelous. La Perla designers meticulously fit each pattern to a body, rather than a mannequin, so each garment is tailored to be precisely form-fitting, allowing for the materials to better stretch and support a woman's curves.

Princesse Tam Tam
The brand was started by two sisters in Paris' Saint-Germain-des-Prés district who created a line of brightly-colored cotton girls' boxer shorts. The masculine knicker trend caught on, first in Paris, and subsequently worldwide, making Princesse Tam.Tam the go-to designer for borrowed-from-the-boys looks in lingerie!

Roberto Cavalli Intimo
Roberto Cavalli Intimo is luxury lingerie by Italian designer and glitterati icon Roberto Cavalli, who says he designs for "real women" who are charismatic and super feminine. Cavalli's designs are immediately recognizable for the distinctly dramatic flower and animal prints, which have become a signature of his.

Kiki de Montparnasse
The label is known for its superbly made, provocative lingerie pieces, which have a distinct couture vibe. In 2011, French it-girl and model Julia Restoin-Roitfeld (the über-stylish daughter of former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld) released her capsule collection for Kiki de Montparnasse. The debut, which featured vintage-inspired pieces handcrafted of silk and French lace, cemented the brand’s reputation as the epitome of cool. Kiki de Montparnasse’s collection may come with a hefty price tag — there's nothing under $150 — but these are no run-of-the-mill unmentionables.
